Clinical: Descriptive, Experimental & Observational Studies

Long-term Patient studies

11 years of product development and treatment studies have proven the

TrPro-Relief device to be effective in both a primary and supporting role for improving musculoskeletal disorder treatment outcomes.

The PT taught, self-application processes extend the patient course of care and positively affect completion rates.

TrPro-Relief Corporation has conducted long-term (11 years) studies of the TrPro-Relief device to establish its efficacy as an adjunct to common therapy modalities used in clinical treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

Therapeutic treatment of many disorders and injuries were involved and the efficacy variables were reviewed at 3, 6 and 12 months from the start of therapy. The objective of the study was to assess the effectiveness of the device when included in a subject's treatment episode, following its use-protocol both in clinic and at home, compared to a treatment course of care without the inclusion of the device.

TrPro-Relief use protocol: Locate TrPs (active and latent), apply compression therapy (our method), follow with spray and stretch process defined by Travell & Simons or ice and range of motion exercises. Clinical application (supervised) and at-home extension of therapy.

A minimum of 40 subjects were included in each category study and the disorders treated were as follows:

  • Myofascial Pain Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Stroke Rehabilitation
  • Sciatica
  • Post Joint Surgery Rehabilitation
  • Post Fracture Rehabilitation
  • Back Injury/Pain
  • Tendonitis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Thoracic Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Headaches
  • Carpal Tunnel
  • Arthritis Pain
  • Leg Pain

In summary, patient outcomes were dramatically improved. Recovery was faster and due to the at-home extension of therapy, course of care completion rates rose to 76%. Self-applied continuation of therapy decreased compensation injuries.  Full recovery was achieved in more than 68% of subjects and maintained longer than 12 months, continuing a self-applied extension of care plan.
